Whenever we go to beach, we used to collect some stones, back to home i did some drawing with sketch pens r with marker...my daughter also loves to show some of her artistic works...
I did collect some stones from Haridwar and painted with fabric colours..some god figures..have it on my blog..you could check out if interested..yours is a nice and simpler idea of working with markers

I think it's good to encourage the creativity of ur daughter. Feelings of joy flowed through the scratches it.
